PROCESSIUM takes part in the Chemicals Northwest Breakfast Networking, Heath Business Park, Runcorn, UK, 29th September 2011.

After such a positive response to our first two breakfast networking events, we would like to invite you attend our third breakfast event which is taking place at the Heath on 29th September. The main focus of these events is to “Network” with like- minded people from the Chemical Sector so make sure you bring a few spare business cards.

In addition to the networking, there will be 2 short pitches on industry related topics;

Gordon Neilson from Optimised Energy Solutions based at Daresbury SIC will be discussing how best to manage your energy savings; the business need, the fundamentals of energy management and how their software, training and support packages enable improved results through self management. This is not one to miss! Karen Hands from Thought into Action Ltd will be speaking about striking the balance between preparation, action and review when completing tasks, whether you work individually or as a team. She will give you a thought for the day and a time-saving tip to get you into action.

Over the last 12 months, Chemicals Northwest has been running an ambitious business improvement pilot programme called ‘Process Innogateway’. With funding from the Northwest Regional Development Agency, we have been able to work with seven manufacturing sites across the region to test a methodology for assessing a company’s performance, benchmarking it against UK and world class chemical sector standards, establishing interventions for improvement and identifying shared opportunities for companies aiding each other.

This event will share best practice and learning from some of the companies involved in the programme: Akcros Chemicals, Innospec, Innovia Films, PQ Corporation, RS Clare, Springfields Fuels, and William Blythe; which range from family owned SMEs to sites with large multinational backgrounds.  12 business areas were investigated including supply chain and logistics; operational performance; process development; resource efficiency and new product development.

The results from our pilot study should be of interest to chemical sector manufacturers (senior management, operations, R&D, engineering... in fact anyone within such a business!), and organisations that provide support to the sector.

Come and hear from those involved and find out how your company can adopt some beneficial new practices.
